Boat Diving
Located just one hour north of Sydney, midway between Sydney and Newcastle, Pro-Dive Central Coast operates daily (weather permitting) trips to the ex HMAS Adelaide and other spectacular dive sites in the area.
With our trailered dive boat we are able to launch from Norah Head, Terrigal and Davistown. This gives us a greater range of sites to dive with shorter boat runs to increase diver comfort and minimise clients travel times. Our boat, "Snappy Tom" is a fast, reliable and above all very comfortable twin hulled Rigid inflatable diveboat. Capable of carrying 10 divers and 2 crew for double dives. Custom built from the keels up, specifically as a dive boat for the Australian East coast waters.
Pro-Dive Central Coast offers single and double (1 and 2 tank) dives to local reefs and local dive wrecks. We have over 420 dive sites to visit, ranging from shallow discarded wreck sites and reefs, to underwater caves, overhangs, swim throughs and offshore island reefs.

Besides the HMAS Adelaide we can visit over 420 numerous reefs, bommies and small caves along with shallow and deep wrecks including:

Technical Dives
We can cater for suitably certified technical divers and offer a maximum of six divers with a total bottom time of 90 minutes with a minimum surface interval of 90 minutes. Please book tech dives separately with the dive centre.
Nitrox available
Besides AIR, we also provide EAN32 as a standard fill, however we are able to mix anything up to 100% O2. Please call for your specific requirements.
Prerequisites
All divers will require as minimum certification (unless noted otherwise) "Advanced or Deep Diver or Adventure Diver" with minimum 30 metre depth rating with 6 dives post course and two dives within six months of diving the ex-HMAS Adelaide.
- Gloves and torches are not mandatory but, highly recommended.
- Gloves are available at the Dive centre from $7.95, the choice is yours to make.
Remember contact with the scuttled vessel could result in cut fingers. - Torches are not available for hire
- Dive guides are available at $95 per person per dive.

Rental Equipment
You will require all your own personal dive equipment.
Rental equipment I.E. Scuba units, Wetsuits, mask and fins are available and must be booked 24 hours prior to departure.

Important Update: ex-HMAS Adelaide Dive Site Closure
For years, Central Coast Divers has proudly operated two double dives every day, welcoming divers from all over Australia as well as international visitors eager to experience one of the country’s most iconic artificial reefs—the ex-HMAS Adelaide.
Unfortunately, despite its proven history as a safe and professionally managed dive site, the department responsible for the wreck abruptly closed the site in July 2024 and will remain closed until further notice!
The justification provided, is that divers may cut themselves on jagged edges—an explanation that overlooks decades of safe diving operations, industry protocols, and the real conditions of underwater environments.
Whilst no diver wants to get hurt, this decision reflects a concerning lack of understanding about managing and evaluating underwater dive sites, and it has resulted in total inactivity for a wreck, that has been a cornerstone of the Central Coast dive economy since 2011.
At this time, no timeline has been provided for when—or if—the ex-HMAS Adelaide will reopen.
This closure impacts not only local operators and visiting divers, but also the broader tourism economy and the reputation of NSW as a world-class diving destination.
Central Coast Divers will continue to update our community as information becomes available. In the meantime, we are directing divers to alternative deep-wreck experiences and XR training opportunities along our coastline to keep advanced divers active, safe, and engaged.
Central Coast run two groups of divers each day weather permitting.

Central Coast Divers offer a single guided boat dive each week.
A guided boat dive is the perfect way to explore deeper or more distant dive sites safely and comfortably.
You’ll board a fully equipped dive vessel and be briefed by an experienced dive guide who leads the group underwater, pointing out marine life and key features along the way.
All logistics — from site selection to entry and exit — are handled for you, so you can simply relax, dive, and enjoy the adventure. Ideal for certified divers wanting to discover new locations or refine their skills under professional supervision.
Departs - 08:00 am and returns by 10am

- Rental equipment is available for hire.
