Rebreather Ocean Try Dive
Take your Horizon SCR experience to the next level, by completing an ocean dive at a local bay. Once you have completed the Horizon setup, and successfully completed the confined water session, you can opt for an ocean experience.
The Horizon Try SCR ocean experience offers you a "hands on" introductory experience using the Mares Horizon, semi-closed rebreather.
This is an open water session designed to give participants an introduction into rebreather diving.
Dive time is a minimum of one hour.
No experience is required and SCR equipment is provided.

REBREATHER DIVING
Are you looking to discover a whole new world of underwater silence, with bubble free diving?
The Pro-Dive/SSI Semi Closed Rebreather Level One Diving program provides divers with the knowledge and training necessary to independently plan and conduct semi-closed rebreather (SCR) dives to a maximum depth of 30 metres, using an SCR Total Diving System and SCR diving procedures with an equally or more qualified dive buddy.
Pro-Dive Central Coast Rebreather training programs are the perfect way to increase your knowledge and skills, whilst at the same time learning how to safely use the new semi-closed rebreather equipment.
Learning to dive with a Semi Closed Rebreather is easier than you think!
Our Level One SC rebreather programs use a globally-recognised Total Teaching System, which includes digital learning materials and proven instructional techniques, this process ensures you have a safe, fun and exciting learning experience.
You will learn the theory needed to safely dive with an SCR unit, how to select your SCR Total Diving System plus, how to plan safe and fun dives, that maximise the benefits of an SCR.
Level 1: 3 days
Plan and conduct non decompression dives using as single cylinder to a maximum depth of 30 metres, not requiring decompression stops.
Providing that dives are conducted in environments similar to those of the divers training and experience.
- Complete the XR Water Fitness Evaluation
- Complete at least one confined water skill development session with a minimum cumulative time of at least one hour
- Complete at least four open water training dives
- Complete at least 120 minutes of in-water runtime on the applicable SCR unit.

- Nitrox Diver certification
- 24 dives

SCR REBREATHER DIVING (Level 2)
The Pro-Dive/SSI Level Two Semi Closed Rebreather Diving program combines all skill and knowledge from Level One plus new deeper dives with limited decompression, providing divers with the required knowledge and training, necessary to independently plan and conduct safe (up to 25 minutes of decompression) diving, using the Mares Horizon semi-closed rebreather (SCR), diving to a maximum depth of 40 metres, using a complete SCR Total Diving System and SCR diving procedures, with an equally or more qualified dive buddy.

Level 2: Five days program
This Semi Closed Rebreather program provides the knowledge and experience required; to independently plan and conduct dives to a maximum depth of 40 metres with a maximum of 25 minutes of accelerated decompression, with an equally qualified dive buddy using the Horizon SCR unit, SSI training techniques and SCR extended range skills.
You will complete:
- Academic sessions and Final exam
- Equipment configuration session
- XR Water Fitness Evaluation
- XR Rescue
- Complete at least one confined water skill development session with a minimum cumulative time of at least one hour
- Complete at least six open water training dives
- Complete at least 420 minutes of in-water runtime on the Mares Horizon SCR unit.

- Deep Diver certification
- Personal Nitrox dive computer
- 24 dives

The SCR Extended Range certification entitles the holder to dive with an equally- or more-qualified buddy, with the equipment configuration used during training and SCR diving procedures, to depths of up to 40 metres with a maximum of 25 minutes decompression, providing that dives are conducted in environments similar to those of the diver’s training and experience.
