Dry Suit Diving Specialty Course

Dive Dry - Dive Longer!

Stay Warm. Dive All Year. Become a Drysuit Diver.

Why pack your gear away when the water cools down?

With a Drysuit Specialty Course at Central Coast Divers, you can continue diving comfortably all year round — anywhere in the world.

“Diving dry” is the smartest way to extend your dive season, stay warmer underwater, and explore incredible cold-water dive sites with confidence. In fact, many of the best diving conditions occur during the cooler winter months, when visibility often improves and marine life becomes more active.

Unlike a wetsuit, which allows water to enter and relies on your body to warm it, a drysuit seals you completely from the water. A layer of insulating air and specialised undergarments keeps you warmer, more comfortable, and able to enjoy longer dives even in cold conditions.

During the Central Coast Divers Drysuit Specialty Course, you will learn:

• How to safely put on and remove your drysuit
• Buoyancy control using your suit and air management
• Proper weighting and trim techniques
• Emergency and safety procedures
• How to select the right thermal undergarments
• Care and maintenance of your drysuit

Training begins with confined water practice in the pool, where you develop confidence and buoyancy control, followed by two open water dives in a local bay.

Once certified, you’ll unlock a whole new world of diving — colder waters, longer dive seasons, and greater comfort on every dive.

Winter diving is coming — now is the perfect time to learn.

Book your Drysuit Specialty Course with Central Coast Divers today and keep diving when everyone else stays on shore.

Drysuits let you dive more challenging dive sites, and extend your dive season.

With the correct cold water scuba diving attire, you can tolerate the elements and take advantage of the awesome visibility offered by winter months.

Drysuit divers are equipped to scuba dive some of the world’s most incredible dive sites in the worlds cooler regions, that are best enjoyed in a warm comfortable dry suit, even in warmer months.

Our divers have travelled to mystical Iceland, where they dived the legendary Silfra lakes. Here you can touch two continents, underwater.

Dry suit diving also keeps you warm on multi-dive days anywhere, especially when you do not want to spend your time getting in and out of a cold wetsuit.

The Central Coast Divers Dry Suit Diving specialty program is the best way to become a dry suit diver and teaches you all the knowledge and techniques you need to dive safely and comfortably in a dry suit.

You will learn how to use specialised equipment, like dry suits and BCs, the benefits of dry suits and how to deal with dry suit emergencies – which are unique to this type of diving.
Upon completion, you will earn Dry Suit Diving specialty certification.
